3 Fine Grains

Show Time

Kymberley Fraser - Tuesday, September 29, 2009
It's been quite a long time since I've blogged about my 3 Fine Grains and I apologize.  I have a very good excuse though...... I've been working diligently making creations for my upcoming shows. I've never done a show before and I have to admit that I'm quite nervous, yet I'm so excited to meet people face to face.  I feel so blessed to have been accepted to these veteran shows selling among some of the finest antique dealers in the country.  My first show is on October the 10th called "Remnants of the Past" in Nipomo, California.  It's a beautiful show in the middle of a farm with amazing dealers from all over.  My second show is called The C.A.L.M Show in Santa Barbara on October 16th, 17th, and 18th.  This show is an all antique show with no reproductions allowed. Right up my alley!!! This one was a really hard one to be accepted to and I got in.
I've been busy making up many new designs to showcase at these two great shows.  I will be featuring many new pillow designs including some french postal sack pillows from the early to mid 1900's,  more of my well loved French Stork pillows and even a few fabulous French Roosters.  But my all time favorite is the new German grain sack pillows that I've made up using some of my finest "authenticated original" sacks.   I will have a good selection of light to dark tones with one of a kind markings including some with horses and crowns.    I have several new ottomans and chairs, framed german grain sacks with horses, and even some german grain sacks that I've used to make tapestries hanging from iron rods.  I am excited to introduce my newest items which are throw blankets made from the German grain sacks with a beautiful chenille on the back.  By the time my shows have ended I will be coming home to my shipment of approximately 250 German grain sacks.  I have so much to look forward to in the month of October.  It's as if Christmas is coming early for 3 Fine Grains.

Bloggers inspire me

Kymberley Fraser - Monday, August 10, 2009
Six months ago I had no idea what a blog was nor the role of a blogger.  Then I met Gina from Willow Decor.  Gina called me one day out of the clear blue and told me that she had heard about me and my collection of Antique German Grain Sacks and that she wanted to do a post on me. I was so excited but so unsure of what a post even was.  I wasn't even open for business yet and didn't even have my website up and running and little did I know my world was about to change because of a blogger and her blog. These last few months I've begun to follow blogs on my own and I've really taken an interest in several of them; of course one of my favorites is Willow Decor and not just because she's written about me, but because of all the fabulous things she's exposed all of her readers to; including me.  I have come to appreciate that bloggers can educate, motivate and inspire.  Take for example the movie Julie & Julia. My  15 year old daughter Brielle and I felt inspired when we left seeing this movie.  Not only was the movie about a world famous Chef but a blogger that became famous just because she cooked out of a book and blogged about it.  After being a part of these blogs for the past 6 months experiencing what a terrific impact it had on my life and seeing this movie the other night I decided that it was time I start to keep up on my 3 Fine Grains blog. I want to start sharing and educating my followers about my textiles, my journey in being an antique textile dealer, a wife and mother of 3 glorious daughters; known as my beautiful 3 Fine Grains and also share some great finds in other related areas of life. Because when we all share ideas, knowledge and those secret finds it makes life that much better.
